Void.
Do you ever feel static? Yeah, not physically I mean, life’s way beyond the beauty of what reality offers. What I mean is being frozen emotionally, and in this context, I’m not saying being devoid of emotions; it’s more like being in a feeling you can’t place your finger on, and you are stuck.
You feel like you’re left in limbo, a series of disarrayed feelings that now have no name because it is individual to your person. You feel alone, empty, confused, anxious, excited, nervous, and sad all at the same time, and when you feel a tingle of happiness, the feeling never lasts for long.
You probably heard the best news in your life, and within a short time, you’re back to this feeling of emptiness, asking yourself what you need to do to let that tingle of happiness prolong even for a little while.
You crave something, and you don’t even know what it is you desire. Is it financial stability? Is it love? You keep asking yourself these questions. You get these things you ask for, and they never fill that blank space; it doesn’t give you that pleasure of long-lasting happiness.
What is it that we seek?
What exactly can fill this blank space?
We, humans, are cursed,
Cursed always to chase satisfaction, spend the rest of our lives chasing it, trying to fill up that particular missing void, often you feel like, yeah, this is it, I’m confident, Till you fulfill it and realize it’s still there.
We can’t, and we probably might never be able to grasp the complexities of what the mind desires fully; it’s like a cancerous cell that keeps spreading and spreading until it finally consumes the host. We’ve seen cases of people consumed by their feelings of dissatisfaction, people that’ll go to very unreasonable lengths to fill their blanks. But what they do not know is that it’s impossible.
We must realize that we will never fill that blank space; we’ll probably live our lives stuck, not figuring out exactly what that missing spot is; it’s always going to haunt us and bother us till the end of our lives.
